Extensions and User Privileges

Overview

Extensions are internal numbers assigned to users or devices in FortiVoice. They allow users to make and receive calls and provide access to features such as voicemail, call forwarding, and the FortiVoice user portal.

Each extension is associated with a user privilege profile. The profile determines which FortiVoice features and calling permissions are available to the user.

Extensions can be associated with physical FortiFone devices or softphone clients running on desktop or mobile devices.

In this section, you will create extensions, configure their user privilege profiles, configure softphone clients, and place test calls.
